Baptism

Baptism

Baptism followed repentance and faith for the early church. Peter invited his listeners on the day of Pentecost to:

"Repent and be baptized every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness if sins, and you will receive the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38)
Wadena Alliance church follows the same practice of baptism for those who have repented of sin and put their faith in Jesus Christ.
We believe baptism is a symbolic act in which an individual publicly professes their faith. We practice baptism by immersion following the Biblical tradition. The act of going under the water and then coming out again is a representation of dying to our old self and being made new through Jesus Christ's sacrificial death and resurrection.
